Two student research assistants openings in the “Doing Business in Africa” Project at ESB Business School

The team of the research project „Doing Business in Africa“ (DBA) located at ESB Business School of Reutlingen University is looking for support.

We are looking for two motivated and interested student research assistants (35-40 hours per month) for one semester (extension possible) starting on 01 September 2022. Working hours can be flexibly arranged, remote work is possible!!!

The research project is dealing with the business perspective on the markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. The aim is to understand the key success factors for operational activities. The project is conducted in cooperation with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and is promoted by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Currently, we are working on different issues relating to operational business activities, e.g. business potentials for African companies in the context of China’s Africa engagement, sales partnerships between African and German companies, evaluation of DAX companies focus on African market as well as an edited book „Business Success in Africa“ with numerous contributions from companies.

The main tasks of the research assistant include:

• Support for planned publications

• Literature research and summary of key papers

• Assuming marketing activities (Website, LinkedIn)

• Data research and analysis

• Transcription of Expert Interviews

• Possibly contributing to a Blog

• Support in research funding applications

We are looking for someone with a business study background to strengthen our team. You should be interested in questions related to international business, Africa and like applied research. Applicants should be able to work independently and carefully. German is not necessarily required. In addition, excellent writing capabilities, very good English skills as well as a confident handling of relevant programs.
